A Shell paint inspector recently recognized our coatings team on Perdido for their strong performance, professionalism and commitment to quality.Following the Christmas break, the team quickly mobilized, setting overhead rigging across both the production and spar deck areas and beginning blasting and priming activities. Throughout the work, the crew demonstrated flexibility during SIMOPS while maintaining an efficient, safe workflow — a level of performance that reflects strong leadership and a dedicated team culture.
The inspector extended special recognition to Otis Blake, whose craftsmanship and leadership have stood out during recent asset integrity campaigns. He sprayed nearly the entire Perdido main deck, achieving consistent quality and minimal inspection findings. Otis recently stepped into the superintendent role, where he has continued to demonstrate effective crew management and professionalism.
