Shell leadership recently praised the PES coatings team for their work on the Perdido asset. Block Coordinator Roy “T-Jim” Cloteaux said:
We would like to recognize the exceptional efforts of the Entire Fabric Maintenance Team for their outstanding contributions on Perdido.
Your dedication, skill and pride in your work are deeply appreciated. You’ve not only preserved the integrity of critical structures but also demonstrated what true craftsmanship and teamwork look like.
- Thank you to Project Managers Kim Dang and Merrick Chambers for their outstanding leadership and professionalism in overseeing all fabric maintenance activities on Perdido. Your guidance, planning and unwavering commitment to quality and safety have been key to the success of these operations. Your ability to lead by example and foster a culture of accountability and excellence have made a lasting impact on the entire team.
- Main Deck: The crew successfully completed the full surface prep and coating of the main deck, despite challenging weather conditions as well as some SIMOPs conflicts. The finished quality exceeded inspection standards, with minimal rework required – a testament to your precision and teamwork.
- Underside Progress: Your continued work on the underside has been equally impressive. The team has already completed approximately 55% thus far of the corrosion treatment and recoating, navigating tight spaces and complex structures with remarkable efficiency and safety.
- Heliport Crew: has demonstrated incredible coordination and technical skill. While executing structural coatings, their work has ensured the heliport remains fully operational and compliant with aviation safety standards. Their ability to work efficiently in a high-traffic, high-risk area is truly commendable. While safely masking off the lifeboats while they remain in service.
- Block Crew Working the Subsea Building: has made impressive strides in both structural integrity and environmental protection. Your proactive approach to managing moisture control and corrosion prevention has been commendable. Operating in the vicinity of the turbine generators can present unique challenges, particularly when it comes to ensuring timely replacement of filter media before the turbine generator temperatures reach critical levels.
- Rope Access Chase Crew – Crane Operations: The rope access chase crew has shown exceptional agility and precision while working on the cranes. Your ability to safely access hard-to-reach areas and carry out critical maintenance tasks at heights has been instrumental in keeping crane operations reliable and compliant.
- Safety & Compliance: Throughout both projects, the crew maintained a “can-do” attitude, adhering strictly to all protocols and ensuring a clean, hazard-free work environment.
- Efficiency & Coordination: PES offshore leadership as well as office personnel’s ability to coordinate across shifts and maintain momentum without compromising quality has been instrumental in keeping the broader project timeline on track.
